I recently read that the number of electoral votes equals the number of representatives in congress? |
Sounds convincing. I studied this at university and I'm supposed to know it. The fools even gave me a politics degree. Makes me worry about the accelerating effects of vodka on the ageing process... |

Each state gets 2 electoral votes (for number of senators, every state has two) + number of representatives (decided by population) |

true story!
How the Electoral College Works:
Each State is allocated a number of Electors equal to the number of its U.S. Senators (always 2) plus the number of its U.S. Representatives (which may change each decade according to the size of each State's population as determined in the Census).

The strange thing is that I first read this in a textbook written for Byelorussian schoolchildren. That's also where my copy of the US constitution is stored.
One reads the strangest things when in foreign lands. |
