I recently noticed on a job board, that a position had requested that applicants should send their CV through in English and Thai. I was under the impression that this was due to the employee's English skills.
Would be interested to hear your thoughts on the topic. Question

That's the first time I've ever heard of that.

Does this place have a good salary in store (50kB+)? If not, it's a bit ballsy of them to ask for something like that. Generally Thais just expect that their English teacher will have minimal Thai. Many of the schools here will even demand that you use no Thai in the classroom (I got in trouble for distrbuting a translated version of my rules on the first day of class...).

It may be because of Employee's english skills. It may be an unnessecary hurdle to thin applicants. They may be looking specifically for someone who speaks Thai. Or any combination of those three reasons.

If the job pays less than 50k you can probably get away with just sending the English version of your resume.

Same as SG, never heard of that before. Are Thai language skills required for the job?
