Has anyone actually taught ESL online before? I ran into a couple of websites and it looks pretty interesting. I'm not sure if the'll turn out to be scams though.
It would be great if anyone has any tips or websites for me to check out!
Thanks. |

Poet - can you post the sites here?? I'm interested too!!! At least as far as finding out more info is concerned... I used to get sent emails from one company - can't remember the name now - that was more about phone lessons - fine for spoken English practice I guess!!
Thanks!! |

You might want to checkout Global Chat. This is mainly for teaching Japanese students online. They take a 30 percent cut on what you charge though. You basically post your profile and set a price for students. The staff from Global Chat will interview you first online to make sure you can teach and to test your computer to make sure it runs properly. I did this while in Japan and enjoyed it. My reception isn't so good now that I've left Japan. My internet connection is too slow, so it doesn't work.
You are paid through paypal if you are overseas. Don't worry, they do pay you. You request when you want to have you money paid to you. Here is the website: http://www.globalchat.co.jp/ja_EN/
