Any other career would be your answer.

If you're desperate for money and can only teach English for whatever reason, the answer would be the Middle East or Korea. Perhaps Taiwan or Hong Kong if you were well qualified.

Agreed. Korea can be a rough place to teach in. But if you survive ( which many can't) you can make it anywhere.

I don't think you have to be "well qualified" to teach in Taiwan. Heck, I met a man the other day who believes the past participle of "go" is "been." He referred to himself as "an expert" at the English language, based exclusively on the fact that he was born and raised in Canada.
