Many moons ago we used to play a ridiculous game called 'human darts'.The rules were very simple.......all you had to do was get lathered and launch yourself at the dart board.Whichever number you headbutted you scored as long as it drew blood. There was also a variation called 'human pool'.In this game there was no cue or cue ball. You could pot any ball ,(like killer), as long as you played your 'shot' with a part of your face. Then there were the old classics like fizz buzz, thumper, drink 'til you think etc etc....any others?

Dear biffenbridge,
Well, there's dwarf-bowling and dwarf-tossing.

Problem is - dwarfs are hard to come by.
Regards,
John

Dear johnslat:

There's a famous bar in downtown Manila (in the Ermita District) ... called Hobbit House where ALL the employees are 'little people'.

What a great place for the first annual Dave's EFL Convention Exclamation We could all get rip-roaring drunk AND toss a few dwarves at the same time. Razz

"tossing the dwarf": what a great euphimism. As in, "I stood in the shower for a while, thinking about Cathy and tossing the dwarf".

My favourite drinking game has always been the one where you place a napkin over a glass, place a penny on top and take turns burning holes in said napkin with a cigarette. The loser is the one who makes the penny fall into the drink. I can't remember whether you then have to drink the drink, forfeit the penny or buy the next round. Perhaps all three. Perhaps you had to swallow the penny, drink the next round and forfeit the drink?

Dwarves? The plural of dwarf is dwarfs.Elf?The plural is elves.Sorry.Could not let that one pass. Smile
As for that dwarf throwing business,I believe reading somewhere sometime ago that there is actually an organization called Little People of America and they lobbied, demonstrated etc.against the practice of dwarf throwing. Some municipalities even enacted specific laws banning the practice.

One drinking game I remember...in college, of course, was everyone would drink as much as possible...but the only bathroom was locked(invariable this was late at night)...so if you really had to go,you just opened the window...college "hijinks" Rolling Eyes

We thought maybe we could come up to Nova Scotia and toss a few dwarFs,if they allow it up there....just the thing for a Dave's Forum Convention...or maybe if they do not allow that in Nova Scotia,we could go see a jello wrestling match. They do have jello in Nova Scotia, right?Or is it too cold for jello?

Capergirl?....interesting handle...at first I thought it was CAPEgirl...you know, Supergirl or something....I had this mental pictue of some Superchick flying from country to country...alighting and teaching TESOL for awhile and then taking off for somewhere else...

No,seriously(well,at least more seriously)...yes, I have traveled in Nova Scotia.Very nice place too, although I did not see any dwarf wrestling while I was there. Smile

Jello wrestling...yes, my friends and I do that every Saturday right after the weekly pillow fight in our baby dolls. Rolling Eyes *snicker*

"Capegirl", huh? Well not quite, but I do think I'm rather "super". Wink Yes, Nova Scotia is a nice place--especially Cape Breton, my neck 'o da woods, but not nice enough to keep me here unfortunately. I have a bit too much wanderlust, I'm afraid. Laughing

Hey,well, then,I know a few countries where you can come and teach TESOL(teaching TESOL is really not that different from pillow fighting and jello wrestling). In these countries I am thinking of...especially if you are blonde...you will make plenty of moola.Teach?Well,I wouldn't worry too much about that one. Blonde is important, though.

And yes,Cape Breton is very nice. You come from a very beautiful part of the world.Although I guess the economy is not in such good shape there right now?
