Hi,

I'm sure it's been asked before, but have n't been able to find a recent reply, at least, so may I ask what you reckon my prospects of finding work teaching English are like?

I'm 40 years old, no degree, & will (as sson as my flat sells) be taking a CELTA at IH London.

I speak a little Spanish atm, but expect to be able to get by within a month or two of arrival in Spain.

Fortunately I'll be cashing in on the property market, so will make enough from the flat sale to fund vocational training & keep myself going for a year or two in Spain. Teaching English is not my only plan ... I'll also be doing a computer course & a plumbing course, so will have 3 strings to my proverbial bow when I arrive in Spain.

Thanks for your replies.

Iam.

Youll find work, no problem, although if youre looking to live somewhere coastal it may be slightly trickier competition-wise than starting off somewhere like Madrid. Maybe the plumbing course wont be as luctrative here as in the UK: there are loads of South Americans and North Africans here in that sector working for much lower money. You may well be better off using your time and training budget on learning Spanish or another language.
