Hey, my wife and I are coming to HK from Taiwan for a visa run and we have to spend the night. Can anyone point us to a cheap place to stay? preferable close to the consulate.
Chung Hwa Travel Service Hong Kong
40th Floor, Tower One,
Lippo Centre No. 89
Queensway, Hong Kong

Greatly appreciated.

Cheers

You will find it very tough to find somewhere near the office that is very cheap. But there are great transport links in HK and the MTR will take you straight to the office. I suggest you look into rooms at mirrador mansions: a collection of cheap hostels and guest houses in TST. It is only 5 or so minutes away from the office on the MTR.

Sorry if this is really stupid, but where's TST, is it a name of a stop on the metro? IS there a website where I can get an mrt map, and other stuff ab out how to navigate around HK? Thanks again

TST is Tsim Sha Tsui, the southern tip of the kowloon peninsula. That is only one MTR stop away from Admiralty (for Queensway).

In Queensway you'll find the Conrad and the Marriot, but these are perhaps a little pricey. TST should be fine, and it'll give you an excuse to ride the star ferry back and forth and eat Indian food.

You should be able to find an MTR map at www.mtr.com.hk or else it will be in any Hong Kong guidebook, and you can pick things like this up for free at the airport.

Have a nice trip!

don't worry about it! everything will be made crystal clear to you at the airport. just pick up a few of the zillions of brochures that are around, and i'd also suggest purchasing an MTR day pass rather than draining your funds on single-trip tickets.

Sorry, I thought after I had posted, that TST would not be so easy to understand. But to be honest, I can never remember how to spell the full name!
There are some places in Causeway Bay that may be ok. You could try and PM Roger, he post frequently about one place he knows and recomends, he can help you.
Good luck.
