If you dont mind a plug on this page, one of my colleagues in the US produced a textbook for low-level learners that teaches the TOEIC Bridge Test. This is aimed at learners with a score of 400 or lower on the TOEIC test.
Look for Bridge to TOEIC by Lynn Stafford Vilmaz. I have been using it for the last term with good results with my university class. Lynn writes the TOEIC column in the daily Yomiuri.
PM if you need more info. |

Thanks Paul.
Although I didn't start the thread, that's pretty handy info for me. My boss wants to create a standard TOEIC Bridge lesson format to sell to schools as the TOEIC and TOEIC Bridge test are becoming the flavor of the month in April by the Ministry of Ed. |

I don't teach TOEIC, but there's this one part-time teacher that my boss hired last month who teaches TOEIC in many companies, so I'd think he knows what he's doing. Anyway, the text that my boss picked for the class was great, at least that's what the teacher said. He said that he used many dif texts for teaching TOEIC & this one so far is the best one. I haven't had the chance to see the name of this text, but it's about 2 inches thick, & the color is bright green! So you can't miss it. I think the CD is sold separately...anyway, when I get to work, I'll find out the name of this book! |

The publisher is McGraw Hill if you need to look it up anywhere. |

Sorry, I have Mondays off, & tmw is a national holiday...I'll find out on Thurs when I work at that branch. It's probably a Longman book since my boss is a big fan of them, either that or it's from Oxford. Once I find out (if no one else here knows which book I was talking about), I'll post it here, k? |

The Longman and Oxford are both green. Oxford is much thicker. |

Tonight I finally got a chance to sit in the TOEIC class. The book is from Oxford..called Preparation Course for TOEIC. Sorry I really forgot the whole name but it's bright green & it's quite thick. Each student's book comes with a CD. I think the book is pretty good, but the male voice is a little TOO low for my comfort. Anyway, give that a look~ |
