Showing my age? As a ripe old under 30? There are a few other people from Nova Scotia who post on this board. Ask THEM how boring our upbringing was. You'd watch Trek 24/7 too. |

With a name like "Capegirl", I'm assuming you know what Antigonish is. Also know as Antigonowhere. If you don't, that's the wee little town just before Cape Breton.
One does not simply walk into Antigonish. It's black gates are guarded by more than just Orcs. It is a barren waste, covered in fire and ash. The very air you breathe is a poisionous fume. Not with 10 000 men could you do this. No, wait, that's Mordor. At any rate, not even the Nazgul could drag me back there. Not to live, anyway.
If you don't agree, I invite you to spend 22 years of your life there and then we'll talk. |

Dear Steiner,
" I ain't no bumpkin!"
Tsk, tsk - it should be: " I ain't any bumpkin ".

Shaman - it's about a serial killer called Patrick Bateman. In one scene of the book he cooks, er, see the English v. American thread for a selection of my euphimisms for what he cooks... |

Dear R,
Considering how strict they are here with regard to censorship, I was very surprised to see " American Psycho " among the selections at Jarir Bookstore. I can only assume they liked the title, perhaps thinking it was a biography of George W. Bush.

Hey Wolf, I am well aware of where Antigonish is...pass by it all the time on my way to Halifax and have had many a friend go to X. I went to Acadia, which is a slightly better academic institution. We Capers also call it "Antigonowhere", suiting for a college town which is in the middle of....well, nowhere. hehe...just kidding....
Bnix, although Wolf et al may be "redneck country bumpkins", I am actually from a city called Sydney. We have televisions, running water, and there are even a few of those wonderful inventions known as the "automobile". |
