|
|
Hi All
How to I judge the level of this student?
Okay, yes, I have spoken to the student but is there a resource or a test I can use that will aid me in placing this student at the right level.
I don't want to waste time with placing - I want to get started with the lessons asap
I would appreciate any help on this...

(You might have placed in the wrong forum but here goes....)
It really depends which of the skills the student wants as he/she may be of a different level in each one. For speaking, try a fluency game (which you also play to check listening with questions), and to assess writing just get the student to write about hometown, hobbies, education etc. This should give you a good overall idea of the student's level. Don't consider level placement as wasting time - it's all good practice after all and leaves huge scope for error correction. Hope this helps. |
