|
|
There are some anonymous job advertisements that just give a PO Box No. or a fax number or an email address.
Such job adverts. ask job-seekers to send their CVs.
I didn't feel comfortable about sending my CV to an anonymous person(s), so I emailed asking for details of the position and the organisation.
I got an anonymous reply with a website which didn't give the names of the company directors. I haven't sent my CV.
Just wondering if you have any thoughts on this topic.
P.S.:
The car is still for sale.

I couldn't agree more.
My personal fear is identity theft. O course it is more likely that some facless agency will use your C.V. to pad out thier portfollio.
But what about all the scammers? If youforward any copys of certificates, learly label them as COPIES.
After all teh years and money I have invested, I would hate for someone to be using my qualifations whilst backpacking around. |

I would expect them to give you:
name of the company
address of the company
contact person
contact phone number
details of position
Many buisnesses in HK still don't have a website though. |

I would suspect that anonomous ads. are so for a reason. The question is what are the reasons? |

'Anonomous': is this an american take on the original spelling of 'anonymous'? |

I'm American, and I can tell you that no, it isn't.
If I spelled (spelt?) "anonymous" a-n-o-n-o-m-o-u-s...I might not want to put my name on it either. |

Dave of Dave's ESL Cafe, for the benefit of some people, please can you add a spelling checker and grammar option?

I must have a fresh look at those anonymous job ads. to see how well they fair in the Correct Spelling Department!
Beware the USA/British-led Coalition on Misspelling!

Oh fun...a political thread in the middle of something about job ads where no one gives their name....
Ger, let it go, it was a bad joke...sorry to have offended you. |

Is this not an example of an anonymous job advertisement?

http://www.ln.edu.hk/ is the website of Lingnan University. It probably tells you Jenny is a graduate of Lingnan University. Email her about the details of the position before sending anything! |

Susie,
What say I. The school I currently work at is becoming a DSS school. They will lose their NET i.e. me. I was asked by the administration if I could help them find one or two replacements. The replacements won't be paid what EMB NETs are paid, I am guessing HK$14000 to HK$19000 a month but I'm only guessing. The school is expecting that they won't get someone who has full teaching qualifications and is happy to look at people who would expect to find work at language schools. I thought this was as good a place as any to help out the school and someone who may be looking for a job in Hong Kong. I thought the post was pretty straight forward and honest. Sorry for trying to help. |

Travelem's advice is sound. I don't know how things work in other organisations but I wouldn't send originals or copies or any of my qualifications, passports etc. to anyone. I'd list them but they can view the originals at the interview. There is no way I would send originals. |
