I left Japan over a year ago without paying my final Vodaphone bill. I tried to pay at a Vodaphone store but only managed to cancel my contract. They wouldn't take payment by credit card.
I am returning to Japan at New Year and hope i wont be arrested at the airport on arrival! This must happen to hundreds of NOVA teachers every year. Do Vodaphone/JPhone write it off or is it building up as a massive debt in my old USJ account?

A friend of mine was in the same situation with AU. He had it as a student in Japan but never paid his last bill. When he returned as a teacher last year, he got into the country perfectly fine. He can't use AU anymore, though, so he just applied for Vodafone. So, you will probably be limited to DoCoMo or AU now.
