I'll be arriving in Taiwan on a vistitor's visa. What questions do the Taiwanese officials ask upon arrival? Obviously I can't tell them I'm there to teach because I;m arriving on a visitor's visa. Also, do we have to provide them with an address of some sort as to where we're staying?
Thanks. |

So long as you fill out all the required forms properly they shouldn't ask you anything outside of what you wrote down on tyhe forms or the details in your passport. They do that to make sure you are that person and the one who filled out the form.
If you are coming in on a tourist visa then tell them you are a tourist. If they ask for some sort of proof (never happen) pull out a camera and ask to take their picture.
You will need to supply the name of your hotel or the address of the person you are staying with.
A very useful answer to use is "Sorry, I don't know."
Good luck,
A. |

If you have a visa prearranged (ie 60 day visa), they won't ask any questions at all. I haven't come in on a landing visa (30 day). I imagine the only question the landing form would ask would be where you will be staying. Just put Taipei, hotel. Tell them you haven't picked one yet if they ask (doubt they will). Most of your dealings with folks in the airport here will be non-verbal. They won't ask a lot of questions. Just have your passort and documents ready and you'll be out in a flash. |
