Hello all. I was wondering if you would be so kind as to give me some advice.

I am fresh out of college and have been working for AEON for about six months. I have to decide whether or not I want to renew my contract sometime this month.

Anyway, I suppose working for AEON is not that bad, but the work environment is just not so good. I really don't like the corporate feel of the whole business. That and the fact that the head office has such little respect for its teachers. So... I don't think AEON is establishing the friendly, safe environment needed for me to teach. Seems like this should be a teaching company's priority but...

At any rate, I am looking to move on to another job here in Japan. However, I cannot sort through all of the schools. One person says something good, another something bad. Not many people talk about the everyday-steady jobs, I suppose.

I would appreciate it greatly if you would share your knoledge of good schools. Heck, I suppose I do not even have to teach, necessarily. However, my only qualifications are a B.A. in Psychology and my AEON experience.

Take it easy,

a

This month is the worst time to be hunting for a job at a conversation school. If you can wait until late January at the EARLIEST, it will be much better.

As to which schools are good, you're going to have to ask specific questions. Most people would rather post about complaints.

I'm interested in working for smaller companies, but am a bit wary of fly-by-night operations. I have had Berlitz and Interac recommended to me. Interac would be a sweet deal if it wasn't for the pay problems. Don't know much about Berlitz.

Thanks for the help
