What is the news on Income Tax in Saudi ? On the OTHER foirum I saw some comment that the proposals had been scrapped. Does anyone have any information that is RELIABLE. ( In KSA, are you KIDDING ??) |

Dear scot47.
The only " reliable info " is that the 10% proposal was rejected by the full Shoura Council and was sent back to the " finance committee " for " reworking ". All else is conjecture - and my conjecture is that the percentage will be lowered, perhaps to 5% or less - and " resubmitted " to the Council at some( ? ) future date. Conjecturing further, I believe that the " reworked " proposal will be accepted by the Shoura Council, forwarded on to the King and will, eventually become law. Pure speculation, of course, but that's all we always have to go on over here. |

It certainly seems to have disappeared from the columns of the local papers and the airwaves. Let us hope they will postpone it until we are all happily retired. |
