hi everyone,
here is my situation:
I have a 2 year college diploma
I have the Trinity cert. TESOL
I have very little teaching experience
I'm male, born and raised in Canada. I speak English and French fluently.
My father in Indian, so my name is Indian (Ravi Singh), but I'm white and I look Italian (my mom is half Italian, half French Canadian).
Can I work anywhere in the middle east? I'm currently in Taipei and can't find a job, so I'm thinking about going to the middle east.
thanks for your replies,
Ravi. |

i'm afraid the middle east is out.
try thailand - low money, but it is nearer to where you are now, more fun and no problem getting work with your qualifications.

Patchwork,
Please don't post the same question to different ME sections. Unfortunately, the answer is the same as the one I put on the other thread.
I would really suggest that if you want to survive in this field, you head back to Canada and finish a degree... and adding an MA would be even better. Then, you can do well in the Middle East. Otherwise pretty much all you qualify for are 'backpacker' teaching posts in the Far Eastern countries.
Not that there is anything wrong with that, and as Cody said, it is probably more fun there, but you can't make much of a living anywhere with limited academic credentials. You may be able to find some temporary and/or part-time in Egypt, Syria, or Morocco. And you might want to post this question on the Turkey section of this board.
