Hello everyone!
I have just received my TESOL certification & completed the "teaching children English" specialization for my upcoming trip to Thailand. I have no degree to speak of except for a Trades Qualification in autobody painting & an Appliance Service Technicians Certificate. Any ideas if these qualifications will help me or not? I would like to live & teach in Thailand for 1 year before making a decision as to invest in a business or not. Any comments from experienced expats will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

As far as teachin in Thailand goes youre Trade Certificates will be as valuable as your highschool dipolma. Sorry.

BA, MA, and TESOL are the only letters Thailand really cares about.

Actually if you can persuade your employer it's comparable to a degree it might well help. Did it take three years plus to complete?

I know people that have managed to get TLs and WPs with a HND (Higher National Diploma) which gives me the impression if your qual is comparable to a degree you should be okay (with your employers backing/help).
