A little warning, New Bridge Language School in Beijing has been having problems meeting their payroll for quite awhile (since SARS). The foreign staff is presently "on strike". We're all hoping that they get it turned around (the schools have been sold with the long-time owner now holding a minority stake) but if you take a job there you should be aware that there's a list of people who are still waiting for their salaries.

I'm currious because I work for a company called Newbridge teaching business English in Shanghai . It is based in Beijing.
Not being paid is common in South Korea . But sometimes the teachers don't see the signs . There are no students and you have no classes . How can they pay you ? Is money coming in ? Is there an enrolment to support you ? In South Korea if you don't teach at least 50 students then they can't make money or pay you .
I heard Newbridge is run by a Korean . Is this true ?

Hi Brian, Yes, I believe we're talking about the same company here. The majority owner was Korean but like I said, he has recently sold the company. There have been lots of 'signs' but I just wanted people to know that there's a ?decent? chance that they won't get paid if they accept a job there. The company is presently advertising for teachers. Everything's OK in Shanghai? SARS really hurt Beijing's businesses pretty bad.
