Reesy, please don't place me in the same category as this sez character. Back to NOVA students: I'd agree that they are grossly overcharged for lessons. But once they pay up, management caters to their butts. I hope the lawsuit is successful in any case. |

Hello. everyone out there,
I am going to be leaving for the JET program in August and I am going to be living and working in the chiba-ken area. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about the region and also if anyone lives or works around there. I will be new and hoping to go out and get to know the area. I am a high school teacher in my first year out of college. I teach outside of chicago in Theatre and English. I am also actor when I have time. I am very much looking forward to moving to Japan for a year. Send me a line to say what's up or just to pass along some freindly info. I would very much appreciate it. Hope you all are having a great experience, thanks.

Where are you going to be placed in Chiba? The area can be coastal, countryside, suburban and built up. |

As of right now all I know is that my Prefecture is Chiba-ken and my contacting organization is Yokaichiba-shi. I have no idea what that means but it sounds exciting and important. Thanks for the reply.

Yokaichiba is pretty close to Narita Airport (less than 20 miles). Narita-shi has a sizable foreign population and some good shopping. The beaches are aobut 20-30 minutes by bus from Yokaichiba Station. That's about all I know about Yokaichiba. |
