You are so right, Courtney. AS John Lennon sang, "Life is what happens to you when you're making other plans."
Often we live for tomorrow, then tomorrow comes and we realize we're 80 years old and where did all those years go? Better to live for the moment and savor each second, kiss your family, kiss the dog or cat, because it is all so fleeting, than it's gone. When it's all said and done, what do any of us really have? Our families, friends, pets. That's what matters.
No one when he reaches retirement age ever wishes he spent more time at the office. |

A glorious posting that gives me hope for a bright future among us here in this paradise. Look for the silver lining as they say. Life is what you make it. Look on the bright side of things. And now in the season of our Blessed Savior and Messiah, I have so much to be thankful for, and I rest easy that the angels with Gabriel in the lead are indeed blowing their trumpets in triumph as I look at the horizon of my radiant future. The dark clouds that hover about me are merely illusionary puppets of Satan. I can stand strong now, strong like Jesus himself when he stood upon the pinnacle of the abyss and refuse, yes friends, refuse to jump into the abyss of darkness as Satan tempted him.
We can weather the storm by getting in touch with our inner child, leaning hard on every cliche that our benevolent and rich English language has provided for us. We can stand tall with the assurance that we will not be defeated by the naysayers. We will rest easy that the constant support and assurance lies not within ourselves or within others here, but indeed with the Messianic prophets of old.
I tell you that salvation lies whereever you want it. Look for that watermelon, carve a hole in it, and rest easy before the big pump. You, my friend, are on the way to paradise and it is exactly what you make it. |

Leave Roger alone. All of us--some more than others--need a dose of salts from time to time.
Christmas a humbug, Mr. Roger? |
