Hi everyone,

I was wondering how difficult it is to find teaching positions (6-12 months) in Malta. I am completing my CELTA in January, and will be travelling through Asia for five months before arriving in Europe in June. I will be a dual Australian/Maltese citizen by June, but won't have a Maltese passport at that stage.

Thanks,
Will

If you can prove that you are a Maltese citizen, and you arrive at the start of the summer season, you can probably walk into a job. This could be a passport, naturalization certificate, or Maltese national ID card.

With only proof of Australian citizenship, you'd need to jump through so many legal hurdles for visas that most employers won't bother - proving that no Maltese person is available to do the job would be essentially impossibel for this kind of work.
