Any Aussies out there? Istanbul's first and only Aussie bar officially opens tomorrow-Friday the 10th. (invite only) then Saturday it's open for all. I've know idea how good it is but it is something different.
It's next to the French Consulate where the James Joyce used to be.
( I wonder if they sell crocodile burgers?) |

As an old melbourne boy. Growing up in collingwood and mornington, I can tell you I don't know what a a realy Oz bar looks like. If it's called a bar then thats a problem. It should be a Pub. |

If it's anything like the irish bar, it'll just be a very expensive rip-off with rude staff that exploit tourists who are too Scared top go to normal bar in Taksim. And there'll be posters of INXS everywhere |

I want a Glasgow pub in Istanbul. It must sell Special Brew and Super Lager for the serious drinkers. No hand bags allowed. |

Perhaps we could put a picture of the mighty Lisbon lions over the bar. |

There is absolutely nothing Aussie about it-except the manager. It is more like a chic London wine bar. As my friend said, 'It's a good place to take a bird' (his words not mine. I would never say anything that un-pc) |

It didn't last long- now it's called Fado. No, unfortunately not a Portuguese bar just another 'Irish' pub |
