I don't know what to do since my employer has problem. He said last night. He wants me to work at a High School and at his school, so the high school is not nice for work. It stinks, I told him.

He says my attitude is not good. . .But it's not a compatible work. I don't like the hours cause I teach nine classes a day almost. You know working at High Schools? They are want too much. He wants me too also wake up at 6am to travel there and I teach all night for him.

The High School is really bossy and wants me to make tests and correct them so I don't have the time. We decided my boss and I that Jan. 20th I will leave because the school want us to treat the kids so nice at the High School that we can't give them a failing grade and they don't care.

This is not good. Is this High School illegal too? Someone said this before. My school is TFC.

I think the question is 'Do you qualify to legally teach English here in Taiwan?'

If I recall correctly you mentioned that you were French, and although it is obvious that your English is very good, it is unfortunately not at the level of a native speaker. Were you working in another profession I would say that your English level would be more than adequate, but considering the fact that you are actually teaching the subject to second language learners I would hope that your level would at least equal that of a native speaker. I think that we owe the students this at least.

So I guess my questions are:

1. Are you French (here in Taiwan on your French passport)?
2. Are you a native speaker of English or is English a second language for you?
3. How long have you been in Taiwan?
4. Has the school provided you with an ARC?
5. Is the Chinese name on the ARC the same as the Chinese name on the wall of the school at which you work?
6. Are you working in more than one location?

If you would like some clarification of your position as far as the legality of the work that your employer is asking you to undertake, then answers to the above questions would provide pertinent information for this to be determined.

Your situation doesn't sound good. If your boss wants you to work evenings then just tell him that you take Chinese classes and cannot go. For weekends just say that you go to church. If you get caught out just say that you didn't go that particular day (or month).

S/he is probably here on her/his Canadian passport - like many other Canadians I've met in Korea and Japan.

I wish I could somehow block from reading your posts as I'm sick of the garbage you spew.

You're a complete moron actually.

That person has been banned a couple of times. Like a bad case of herpes...

Since when is calling someone a complete moron acceptable discourse? Really, EOD, that shouldn't be able to stand. Nor should your own comment about herpes. C'mon. Let's all grow up.

I know the situation here is not in my girlfriend's, and my own, best of interests. We wanted a short hiatus from our countries. I'd like to interject, however, that this MAN or WOMAN calling my female other part a MORON is of complete incompetence on behalf of her inquiry. I read what you said and took over as she read it sorrowfully. This person RICE PADDY DADDY, may I suggest, have a chat with me vis a vis someday?

My girlfriend is truly hurt right now. She's hurt moreso by such premature ejaculations by such a premie. She's pure Spanish and proud. Perhaps you'd like to know she's an MA in International Business too. But her English is lacking as a result.

My inquiry too, irregardless of this nut, is whether or not this high school we tenure at together is, or is not, legal for us to teach for, since we've heard you need a teaching degree to do so. The MAN, or WOMAN who made the lewd remark to my girlfriend is of course not privvy to such a discussion other than pure idiocy.

You can avoid reading my posts by simply clicking on the small arrow on the bottom right corner of your screen and moving down to the post by the next person.

As I have said before, judging by the quality of your posts, I will take the fact that you don't enjoy reading what I have to say as a compliment.

Why exactly am I a moron? Because I suggest that foreigners teaching English in Taiwan should in the very least be native speakers, or otherwise fluent, in the language that they are teaching. Rice Paddy Daddy, are you suggesting that anyone with a white face should be allowed to teach English here?

This is an interesting post. Wombat, the user being referred to here, was banned for calling another user a moron. Now Rice Paddy Daddy uses this word, and EOD the impartial moderator that he is overlooks this and instead chooses to suggest that a user of the forum is like a bad case of herpes. Thats just lovely coming from a moderator. I am sure that Dave would be very proud to know that one of his moderators holds opinions of some of the boards users like this, and feels that he has the right to express these opinions in this way under the name of moderator.

Ephemerel Real The moron insult was aimed at me, not your girlfriend. My offer of information remains if you can fill in some of the details.

As of today (Sunday) EOD has had his Moderating privileges taken away by the board operator Dave Sperling. He is no longer a Taiwan Moderator.

Thank you, I believe that was a very responsible decision, and I'm certain that a number of members here will be extremely glad of it.

Seconded. I think the decision was a sound one.
