There doesn't appear to be a section on India or Pakistan here...is there no demand for teachers there, or just no computers or what? Answer me, damn you.

Thanks!

OK just did a search and this has already been covered - duh!

But if you have anything new to add...

And there is no Sweden section either, nor Greenland for that matter.
in some countries they just do not want, nor need, any native Englishers!
They teach English to their own folks!

I believe that there is a new opening in the Kyber Pass.
Just take the second goat track to the left, travel 105 miles and you will see a sign outside a cave, "Taliban Institute for English and Terrorism Studies". Hurry up, damn you! Don't you know the job starts tomorrow!

Very good,Zakiah( Smile ).

Yes,the other posters are right. All the wishing and damning in the world will not create postions that essentially are not there....unless you want to do some kind of freebie trek.Hey,I am not saying there is anything wrong with that...just do not expect many regular,(even) halfway decent paying jobs in places like those. As the others stated.India and Pakistan, once part of the British Raj, have a long history of English instruction. They have their own teachers. They do not need us.Ditto Denmark,Sweden,Netherlands, etc.

No jobs in India ? This is a bummer man. I just paid a guy running Dr Awful's Ripoff EFL Academy money for this course. He said if I took this two-day course I was guaranteed a job anywhere on Planet Terra.

You know I figured I could go to India and see the Dalai Lama and adjust my Karma, and then head on to Sri Lanka.

Oh man, do you think this guy ripped me of ?

Hi,

I am from India and here's my 2 paise worth.

India has had English for more than a century now, so its nothing new. Competition for jobs across the board is intense and there is no preferential treatment for foreigners as in China. You can get a job but you will have to take the intitiative. I am yet to see an organization anywhere in the world that doesnt admire and reward intitiative and spunk.

In a way i wish that it were easier for "foreigners" to get jobs in India or any other country - for they are the true ambassadors. I see the world shrinking in terms of commerce but it is still highly xenophobic at an individual level.

It is quite clear that you are obviously not aware that English is the official language of India and Pakistan (regardless of what is actually spoken). Not many English-speaking countries have any demand for TEFL!

Yeah... But having said all that when they open up forum for New Zealand and Australia because there is a demand you can't take anything for granted.

Three gueses what the first language of New Zealand and Australia is?

Point being, I don't think it was unreasonable for the original poster to ask the question. If New Zealand and Australia can have a forum why not India and Paskistan?

Because, I think you will find, there are vastly more immigrants in Australia than there are in India.
