A year ago, a thread like this would not only have never been written, it would have vanished within a day or so.

This forum is going to pot.

People here used to complain that the Korea forum was a lawless wilderness with no one on it buy whiners complainers and basically a waste of cyberspace.

Well guess what, the Mods got hold of it and now it is great.

Looks like this sad forum needs some shaking too...

shmooj,

i think the excessive moding has scared a lot of people away--and a lot of strange posts too.

there has been nothing to respond to lately--but i keep reading for some reason.

Hey I'm in total argreement. This particular thread is up to see how long before it dies. Strange that it's still here. I tried killing it myself but couldn't.

Shmooj, why so bitter? You know, you've always got the choice to not read?

Have a little fun in life...229 views on this thread and 209 on the Please Donate thread. Where are people's thoughts these days?

guy, i like reading your stuff. you are very upbeat and seem like a nice person who also knows about esl stuff. i read your discription of mexico city recently. it brought back fond memories of my time there twenty years back. the police were warning me a lot of the dangers, but i ignored them. also remember a cabby crawling behind the volkswagen bug and starting it with a screwdriver and then driving around the block to get more money. i ended up all the way down south in tapachula (eventually) and i was the tallest person in town (and i'm not tall). mexico is very interesting.

this thread may have potential. there used to be a guy who was always talking about cambodia--and it was very tiresome.
cheers and happy new year.

Thanks for the vote of support of Hamel, but I don't want to play a popularity contest here with anyone either.

I enjoy most of the threads...even heated political debates. I see this forum as a community of people far from home sharing with each other and anyone who wants to know how we all got to where we are at...I'm a bit of a twit here in real life and like to engage in a bit of the lighter stuff here as well.

If Dave Sperling or the mods disapprove, they can shut me out or shut me up, and I wouldn't be bitter about it.
