It is so good to hear the words about enjoying life more in Mexico!! YEssss there are other people like me . I'm looking at 4 years of grad school and huge dept to make enough money to pay them back...and in the back of my head I think "just move to mexico"...I know its idealistic and I don't care. I know how life is here and I have a taste of how it is there and I want to explore that. Very inspiring conversation! |

Cuernevaca probably isn't the right place for you. My SHORT junior high teaching career was there... I've moved on to saner pursuits. It's a nice place, and... like any other Mexican city, you don't have to stay in a gringo ghetto if you don't want to... but it is, and since the 1930s has been, a major center of English speaking residents. The upside is more English schools, the downside... more wealthy English-speakers.
I don't know why you're afraid of Mexico City, but given that you are, you could work in a rural area, but the pay and lifestyle is much lower. |

So then do you think that Mexico City would offer the most money? I'm not really worried about the pay as long as I can live off of it and save a little to do some travelling around, even if it is just by bus. I just want to be in an area that isn't over populated, like Mexico City. And yes, I'm a little scared of Mexico City, but I don't know enough about it to judge it really. Does anyone have any experiences of Mexico City they could share with me that might change my opinion? I'd really love to hear anyone's opinion. It would really help with my decision making. Thanks. |
