I sent all my documents as jpg's to my employer who in turn sent them to the provisional capital in order to get the work permit. The work permit is a one page paper that I took to the Chinese Embassy and they in turn processed a "Z" for me at a cost of $50 USD. Actually I brought a faxed copy of the work permit to the Embassy as the original was in transit and they processed the visa with the fax copy only. The Embassy also wanted proof that I was a working TEFL teacher (I gave them a current reference letter)or a letter from the US Embassy saying they were aware that I was applying for a work visa in China. I gave them the reference letter as it was easier to arrange. That's all I had to do to enter the Country and I entered in early January 2005.
