Sorry you were attacked, homer.

BUT:

You made yourself vulnerable to attacked by waving your credulity like a red flag.

You deserved it.

Take your lumps like a man.

Ironic coming from the person who screams "abuse abuse" at the first sign of trouble.[/quote]

Just like the girl who dressed "sl*tty?" She was "asking for it."

I wasn't attacked. I was pointing out that by calling me a "c*nt" the poster didn't refute my arguments. Ironic considering I've been tagged as a "name-caller" by users of this forum. Instead of addressing my points or defending one's stance on an issue, they cry in their smoothies about the big, bad, name-calling homer. Rolling Eyes

Let's clean things up here: You complained about being attacked. Nagoyaguy cried "abuse" because he was warned by the monitor about his continued use of abusive language.

So far as I see, no one has used abusive language. Some of us have questioned your prudence at starting this thread, and we have every right to do so.

If you can't tolerate controversy, why start an overtly controversial thread? Is it because you have nothing better to do?

Think about it.

"F*cking c*nt" is not considered abusive to you?
I don't care 'cause the guy who called me that probably can't formulate an argument.

Actually, you started this thread with your claim that Bush and his administration are serial killers. (point of clarification)

Certainly I wouldn't put it in those terms. I believe that the Bush cabal are doing what they feel they MUST do. "If we don't, someone else will. The world is a dangerous place."

For them, in a state of war against EVIL, the Ends can justify the Means...regardless of the Geneva Treaty or the UN or other international laws.

What has long been a common pattern in US covert foreign policy,
(election fraud, subversion of democratic governments etc.) is now w/Bush-team increasingly being seen domestically...and overtly.

But still...many US citizens sleep...

But...around the world, increasingly more citizens are waking up and seeing the Emperor has no clothes.

War Crimes.
War Criminals.
Not serial killers.

1. I DID NOT start this thread. Your name is on it. You chose to commit a highly imprudent action, and then you whined--and are still whining--about the response.

2. At NO point did I claim that the Bush Gang were "serial killers". They are not even that honorable. They have institutionalized torture and massacre as an MO for relating to other countries.

3. There was no "point of clarification". You simply chose to lie.

Perhaps you need glasses, this isn't Dave's USA Cafe you know.

Gee man, you post a completely off topic thread on an ESL forum and then start crying when you draw flack for it. Let's see you start a thread on something relevant to what we're all here for then... instead of constantly rehashing threads about the usa and then complaining that we don't 'refute your arguments' of 'address your points' - loony.

shmooj, I think you've been in Korea too long. I suppose I should have started a more relevant thread like these (as they clearly relate to ESL/EFL):

Is Al Qaeda Just a Bush Bogeyman?

Shameful Mali contributions to the California disaster

Iraqi elections

[ Poll ] Could we have a separate political forum, please?

The US attitude toward the tsunami

US Torture worse than that of Saddam?

Smoker central

The Stingy US

Posters' Reads. What are you reading right now?

Are Americans Generous?

A Man-Made Tsunami

What do Americans think about this?

Are you sceptical or credulous?

more thoughts about the tsunami

etc.

-------
What seems to be the most offensive to you is the mention of the USA. You can thank not just me but several others who have clearly chosen America as their subject of conversation.

Rehashing? How many threads have I started on this Forum? I'm not the one who needs glasses. Yes, I complain when someone doesn't refute my arguments. Isn't that the point? Someone posts something dubious, someone retorts, the OP responds, etc. If you want a place where you can just say whatever you want and nobody dares to question it, I suggest you start an online chat room in North Korea or Cuba. Everyone in perfect agreement ... or else.

Why NOT start a thread that relates to ESL?

Someone (or something) stopping you?
