In my senior high first year class, my team teacher and I cooked up some dictagloss activities to get the students listening to the teacher, cooperating with each other and writing.
I remember seeing an OUP book with a title like Dictagloss or something, but I can't quite recall. I checked Amazon and OUP sites, but couldn't find it. Perhaps dictagloss was in the subtitle and it's called something else.
Also, can anybody recommend a simplified news website? I found the Westcoast Reader site from Vancouver's Capilano College. Here's their url http://www.capcollege.bc.ca/about/publications/westcoast-reader/index.htm
Westcoast Reader covers some world news and Western Canada. I'm looking for world news. Any ideas? |

in the Oxford catalogue you can find a book by Ruth Wajnryb called Grammar Dictation. It is one of the Resource Books for Teachers, edited by Alan Maley. I think that is the book you mean, since it is about dictogloss. |

try looking for dictOgloss and there seems to be a lot on google
Amazon searches every part of the title so maybe the different spelling will make a difference... |

Thanks, folks!
Brooks, I think that 's the book I'm after.
I'm still searching for easy reading news sites. I'll post about any I find in case others are interested. |
