What's the normal method of payment in Spain, ie bi-weekly, monthly, etc? How easy is it to get paid weekly or even daily, and can you get paid in cash? |

The schools I work for pay monthly, the teachers turn in their time sheets on the last day of the month, earlier if there are no more classes for that month. Then we get paid around 3-4 days after. Some get money transfered to their accounts, some get a check and you cash it. Bring your passport and make sure the name they write on your check is identical to the one thats on the passport. Remember in Spain the middle name is their last name. So if the passport says Justin Brian Smith, and the check says Justin Smith or Justin Brian you might not be able to cash your check. It happens to a lot of teachers so just make sure you tell the school this. They are familiar with this request so they wont think youre strange! |

Thats a good thing to share, I was one of those "middle name" victims. The school pay us with company checks, my check said Brian Harmon, because thats what they had on their files. The bank wouldnt cash my check because my passport had Kelley as my middle name. The school was nice so they wrote me a check on the spot with the THREE names as they appeared on the passport! |
