I don't know that I would bother to call unless you are really particularly interested in this job - and your other options are even worse. (I find this place to still be a question mark with the usual negatives that new places have... not to mention Kuwait is NOT the most desirable place to live in my opinion...)
I would tend to take the lack of response to mean that they are either not interested or not sure if they are interested. I would just go along and pursue the other options. You have time at this point - it is only January. Most places are just getting into 'hire' mode. See where the situation is in a week or two or three...

Welll, I have particular research interests in positions outside the US (besides not wanting to be in the US during the Bush years. I am in Eastern Europe now and can't say I miss the US.
I have about another week before I need to respond to other requests for interviews. I'll hang tight until last day. Thanks for the advice, VS |

Hey,
Why delay interviews? Take any interview you can as soon as you can. Get as many offers as you can as early as you can. You don't have to accept just because you interview you know.
The most fun is having a few offers that you can use to negotiate one against the other.

(wish I could get away from here, but I will wear my black armband on the 20th - it's the least I can do) |

In Eastern Europe, orange is the now the color of protest, so I'll join you by wearing orange on the 20th |

Wear orange and black... a bit halloweenish, but will cover it all.

Zaytuni... don't you worry that it gives your name on this blog? Or am I misreading it? There is so much repetition on the site that it is very confusing.

I have already read the blog and related sites. (It is a first page response for American University Kuwait). I haven't received an offer, so I will weigh such considerations if and when I do. |

Anyone know what the salaries are like at AUK? I just applied, for 2006-2007. |

I saw that AUK is hiring in humanities again. Any new feedback on the institution and salaries offered? Are people multi-tasking still? |
