|
|
Hello all,
I am looking for a few recommended Laos ESL sites. Any suggestions ? What would the old hands recommend the best way to find employment ? I think many of us would love to go and teach in Laos, but just showing up without any leads seems like a rather large leap of faith.
Is there any know recruiters in Laos ?
Thanks for any help |

Hello Stosskraft:
I have no first-hand experience in Laos; I'm in Thailand at the moment.
However, I'm in the process of adding a new category to the The Master Index Thailand (SE Asia Regional Websites) which might be useful. If you scroll all the way down to Part III, you'll find it:

I don't think there are many opportunities for paid teaching in Laos.
here's the website for one of the few schools:
http://www.lac-college.net/index.htm
but it seems like it hasn't been updated in a while.
I was in Vientiane earlier this month and saw a couple of language schools but didn't catch the names. Don't think there's much on the web yet. |

Here's one more school in Laos which might be worth looking into:
http://www.vis.laopdr.com/ (Vientiane International School / all English curriculum)
And of course Sigmoid is right. In terms of the TEFL market, Laos is still a cottage industry when compared to Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia. But that is gradually changing as the economy opens up to outside investment and tourism.
In a few years you might even see a Laos Forum here @ Dave's. |

I'm currently looking for teachers for the school I work at in Laos. If you are qualified and/or experienced, send your resume to me at: [email protected] and i'll give you more info.
