I sometimes see them pop up on That's website, and I was wondering if there are other resources for people who have at least a solid command of another language (in addition to English).

I hope my query is clear, I don't mean people who are adept at Chinese, but English and ________________, for example.

One friend told me about a job that paid 4000 RMB for those who spoke Mandarin or Korean, but, with the same professional skill set and Japanese, the pay rate went up to 10.000 RMB.

Could you make your question a little more clear and specific?

Are you talking about resources for finding jobs (like Dave's ESL Cafe) or whether any jobs actually exist? These non-teaching jobs, are they translation jobs, business-related jobs, what exactly do you mean?

Perhaps a little more information will give you more responses/advice.

I mean places to look, i am sure they exist (if in small quantities)... also, I am asking about anything non-teaching: translation, internships, anything at all outside of the classroom.

Sorry for being less than clear. I found one website that had a few openings but I just kind of stumbled onto it playing around on the internet... wondering if there are more. It just seemed to me that as China opens up more and more, there might be more opportunities to find non-teaching jobs in country, rather than having to come over on the companies dime, as most seemed to do in the past.

One of my buddies got an gig as a financial consultant in Shanghai, and he found this after arriving here intending to teach. But, it was a lucky break, he didn't really find it, it kinda found him.

Why should a Chinese employer go to the extreme of sponsoring a foreign national, privileging him over Chinese with the same skills?

YOu are asking for illegitimate favours, I believe.
