The stepchild of my other thread... what about places to search for non-teaching jobs? I guess many people in China run through this idea at one point or another, given the varied backgrounds present.

I know about thats webzines, and Monster.com, but what else is there?

There's the asiaxpat.com ones, which bought out that's magazine's websites a few weeks ago. Then there's the China Daily BBS that has a job section, forum.chinapulse.com occasionaly has stuff, as do a few expat email lists, like http://groups.yahoo.com/group/expatsinchina/ and xianzai.com. If you can read Chinese, there's also 51job.com and zhaopin.com. Both of those sites have English language menus available, but most if not all of the jobs are listed in Chinese, so knowing how to read it kind of helps. That's about all I can think of off the top of my head, I'm interested in seeing if anyone else has any suggestions as well.

...and then you can do the international job hunting run knocking on the doors of companies with known operations in China; they might give you the telephone No. of their Chinese Personnel Manager who will hire you on local terms.

This happened to one of my colleagues who was unfairly let go; he returned from a trip back home and was taken on board by a western business with branches in China.
