Is it possible to change Chinese RMB into Vietnamese currency at the port of entry (airport).

Also how much is a Vietnam tourist visa and how long does it last.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

I imagine it's difficult to change RMB anywhere outside of China, especially in places like Vietnam. I had no luck changing Thai baht into RMB before or after I arrived in China (eventually had to do it on the black market in Kunming) and I think same would likely go for Vietnam. It might be wise - though you'd take a hit financially - to change the RMB to US dollars before coming to Vietnam. The Vietnamese are pretty much only interested in USD (it's the second national currency here).

Tourist visas are around $40 US now (I believe) and should be arranged at an embassy or tourist office prior to arrival.

I was in Hanoi in August and had no difficulty changing RMB, either at the airport on entry or in Hanoi. From memory the visa was around 300 rmb and I had to give EXACT dates of entry and exit, which were recorded on the visa, but I don't think this is the usual scenario, as there was a big political type meeting at the time I went and everything was being monitored a lot more closely than usual.
