What exactly happened to International House in Turkey? Does anyone still work there despite it having changed franchise? Is it better or worse than before? |

I worked there last year, and generally it was good. The DOS, Benet, became a good friend of mine and he is very cool, doesnt act like a boss and is very professional. The school has lots of materials and the conditions are good. I left for a number of reasons however, mainly because i thought turks were sleezy to foreigners and i got sick of the pollution in Istanbul. They changed names because IH wasnt fulfilling their commitment to the school in some regards. The EF books suck, but the school generally is still the same. There were a few bad teachers that worked there but they left so the teachers there now are quite cool and nice. Any more info, just post and i will reply. |

I had friends working there last year who also had good things to say about Benet, who I believe is still there. |

I worked at IH Suadiye a few years ago. Benet wasn't the DOS at the time, but I worked with him. Great guy, knows his stuff. I also think it'd be tough to find a better owner than Zeynep. I've seen teachers at odds with management/staff, but nothing that I haven't seen in different jobs between employees and employer.
I realize this is slightly off-topic, though - I don't know how the transition to EF has gone, but I can't imagine it has meant much more than a name change. |

I work there and I am happy so far. I wasnt at the school last year, though, so I cant comment on the exact changes that were made. There are quite a few teachers who have been here for several years and they seem quite happy. I think the only difference is the EF textbooks that we use and the EF specific paperwork that we have to fill out. |
