Some places oay more than others but nowhere is EFL teaching high-paying.

About the best you will manage in EFL is to get a normal teachers or lecturer's salary.

If you are an engineer then a teacher's or lecturer's salary is about the worse you will get, and most engineers only become teachers because they have some money salted away and have decided they like communicating or like the holidays, or have got laid off and are awaiting the end of the depression.

Same can be said of doctors, dentists, accountants and a fair number of lawyers.

About the only place in the world were teaching pays well is Hong Kong, and then if you look at the salaries of those in banking you will see that the above applies even there.

Carnac,

You are one sick dude!

I would pass on cats. Even with the mouth watering recipe you posted!

To the original poster - good luck guys. I get the gist from what you say that money is less important then actually getting out and 'doing' something different.
