work illegally for the moment but the koleji has decided that they no longer like throwing away money for visa runs. they figure that sending teachers away for extra training will be more effective use of their money blah blah blah... since the laws change all the time it makes it difficult, but i have to go through that this summer when i get my visa. not looking forward to the hassle.
31 what is your problem? were the comments to dmb necessary? |

31,
Interlang was part-owned by a bad businessman who, it is true, ripped some teachers off. I believe that it was more a case of not paying on time -or full stop, I have a friend who wasn't paid by them. Yeah, this is more than pratting people about, granted. I'm not sure that employees were told to accept a lower salary or go, though it is certainly possible. I do know that a similar thing happened at another school; well the contracts could only be renewed at a lower salary.
However, Interlang and I mean the teachers, had an OK reputation. They were always in the background and fairly solid, in terms of educational standards. I know that at one point, just before the takeover the general academic director was a Dip. trainer and generally respected in Istanbul. Seriously 31, taking the piss is fine, but calling people etc. scumbags just makes you and essentially ET look, well you work it out...
Dont pick holes in my spelling as I didnt in your last post.
We all have off days. I was laughing more of your liberal (mis-) use of homophones. "prey" "pray" etc. rather than your spelling. You are correct though no one likes a pedant.
Sad You called yourself sad in one of your posts for having nothing better to do than post here.
There you have it baby.

About Interlang, they were told at the time of the crash of 2000-2001 to accept a new contract at lower rates or leave but I suppose that is all water under the bridge. The other stuff about Interlang I believe to be true. As for a solid system, as solid as any language school could possibly be.
Your posts are always so sharp and you must be a really switched on person. Again I am sorry for that stupid post. |

I miss ghost. at least with him it was one view of Turkey against another. This 31 wants to fight with everyone. Who care how much dmb made in the gulf of where ever.
who the hell are you.
For all who think being illegal is no big problem, wake up. Over the next year, the cops will be tougher on the schools. ( Say thanks to the nuts with Bibles coming here) |

Has anyone noticed that 31 joined on the 21st of January and that ekmekparasi's last post was on the 20th of January? Coincidence? |

Come on 31 are you going to own up? You have to admit if you and ekmekparasi aren't one and the same then you really would be soul mates. I just scanned through a few of ekmekparasi's posts and they are almost the same as 31's; giving ET and Interlang a good kicking, winding up Molly, giving out over hours and qualifications and discussing the merits of Efes.
Also your name 31, come on was that really because of your birthday - you are no new comer to this game. Your knowledge of Turkish seems more than the average new-comer. I am curious to know if you do actually work at ET. I am guessing that you don't, why would you? I suppose you will be denying this with your usual vigour. |

I heard that ekmekparasi got fired and had to leave the country. Maybe you took his job, 31? |

I'm with Scarred2 on this one. Have you noticed how 31's persona has changed so much since he first started posting? He claimed to join to defend ET and now he's its biggest critic.
Judging by the times when he posts he probably doesn't even live in Turkey or the same time-zone. |

No I am not ekmekparasi. I was recently accused of being howmucharefags and I deny that too.
If you want to know whether ekmekparasi was fired and I took over his job, why don`t you ask the only person here who would no. I don`t know if I took over his job (I am taking it for granted that he is a he) Some of my classes I took over from more than 1 teacher and some are new.
Yes I did join this board to counter some of the lies and negativity that has been spread about ET. Two things have changed. First when I started at ET I was a bit gung ho and when you start a new job it takes a while before you realise what is really going on. Second I tried to let bygones be bygones with ET but Molly threw it back in my face.
As for time zones and the times I post. A few nights ago I had a bit of a sesson and woke up about 3.15 and couldn`t get back to sleep. I downed some cold cherry juice and had nothing better to do than doss around on the net and wrote a lot of posts. As far as I know that it the only time that I have posted at odd times. I generally post around 3-4pm and then again in the evening. Check it yourselves.
Scarred 2 Going off topic I noticed you wrote ''....giving out over..." Correct me if I am wrong but that sounds like Irish English. Are you Irish, your parents? Please don`t misunderstand me I am NOT being rude, just curious.
Using Turkish. I have a bilingual dictionary and when I look up ''secular'' it says ''layik.'' When I look at a carton of cherry juice it is written ''visne suyu.'' Hardly rocket science.
Why work at Et. Here are my reasons in no particular order:
I won`t be driven out.
I like my students.
The location is handy, so is my flat.
I have spent money on stuff, for work, for my flat etc.
The money is good at least until May.
I have a great girlf
I have made lots of friends.
I like the hours except (got it right again) for weekends.
Nobody bothers me at work.
I am curious to see how everything pans out.
If you all could think of a way that I could prove that I am not howmucharefags, ekmekparasi or that I do work at ET, without it getting me the sack, please let me know.
Finally most of you seem paranoid about letting anyone know where you work. If you want honesty why don`t you do the same. I admire Molly because at least she has the guts to use her full name and everyone knows where she works. Check out Faustino`s posts. He says in 1 that he works in a private uni and in another a lang. school. Does he have 2 jobs or is it a smokescreen. |

31,
Erm no I am not Irish, though I think that my mum's grandma was. What does that make me? "Giving out" I do have a few Irish friends, I have never thought about whether that is Irish.
If you all could think of a way that I could prove that I am not howmucharefags, ekmekparasi or that I do work at ET, without it getting me the sack, please let me know.
I take it that Molly does not know who you are. So if ekmekparasi has left, who was s/he?
Why don't I write who I work for? Well, things change and you never know when you may need a job. I had a friend who worked for ET part-time. The deal was he went in did his lessons - not in the school but in-house, had no hassle from admin. and picked up a good wage. Maybe one day I might need to do the same. Will not shoot myself in the foot. |
