Well I've spoken my mind. I shall say no more. This is a good thread if we're willing to listen to everyone's tall tales without turning ourselves into defendors of moral values.

This happened when I was a TA of ESL composition at the University of Arizona. My class was about 3/4 Asian, mostly from China. It was surprising at the time, but now I think its just funny.

Most of us know just how fast those "pinche" whiteboard markers run out. For some reason, (probably that it was a 9 am class) I found myself picking up the same green marker with almost no ink left and trying to write on the board with it. After the 3rd or 4th time of doing this, I couldnt believe how stupid I was being. So I grunted softly, and in a big arc pitched the offending marker, basketball style, into the wastebasket, which by the way was nowhere near any student.

Four Chinsese students went to adminstration stating that I was "completely out of control" While I didnt consider my action to be the most stoic or traditional for a teacher, I certainly didnt think it threatening in any way. Needless to say, I got the standard "I need to be more considerate of other cultures" speech (I wonder if the students got that as well). Nowadays it makes for a good story to tell students about culture clash. Laughing

Yeah, I have to say, I do feel that we should be allowed to exchange petty and childish insults that demean us all as adult human beings and I feel sure that ls650 would agree with me, the complete smelly cunt.

And since your are so concerned with being brutally honest,

Are you planning to print your little tale on the front cover of your resume?

You do want future employers to know who you "really are" after all. Wink

Yeah, that's right; I'm so honest that I put all my sins on the first 30 pages of my resume. It costs me arm and a leg to mail one.

I don't. I carry my dirt.

Showers and booths won't save you from yourself.

Hey Guy, old boy, you can have my resume anytime, but you dodged my request about a job in Mexico. You're not gonna just laminate my resume and hang it on the wall or send it to the devil, are ya? 'Cause if that's the case, He already has it.Laughing

I'm the one who needs to apologize. Embarassed

I never intended to get into an argument over morals, I just wanted to point out that a bit of discretion might be shown over what people post.

I hear what you are saying, just that we are all strangers in strange lands and I think people get a little irked when other strangers tell us what to do. Can you see that?

I think Decon did a good job of saying how a lot of people feel. You, my friend, just happened to be on the receiving end there. I, on the other hand, read what other people write and only wish I could put into words how I feel. That, in my opinion, is a good writer.

No hard feelings?

Well, I hope there are no hard feelings towards me either.

I don't have a problem with stuff personally, it's just that with all the kerfuffle going on over MOD EDIT
If you are not living in Korea, fine, this doesn't concern you personally, but please remember that your comments can have an effect on people who are living here.

MOD EDIT

Sorry, that I handled this so badly.
No hard feelings I hope.
