Is one Celta course equivalent to another? If so, any thoughts on which are the best?

I have been looking at courses offered through Cactus TEFL, does anyone have experience through them?

Thanks in advance!

Same material and principles. Different experiences depending on the instructors. I think the one month intensive course is better than the 4.5 month one day a week course.

You'd be better of asking this question in the teacher training section of this web-site.

I did the CELTA p/t and it was 4 days/week, I think 3 hours/day over 3 months.

I don't think there is a big difference between locations. It is the trainers that you want to be aware of. Ask how long the trainers have been conducting CELTA training sessions.

Gordon has made a good point.

As with most jobs your trianer/supervisor can make or break your experience.

Most of these trainers know their stuff and I was impressed. They knew so much more about teaching English than the teachers in my M.A. program did.

The problem is, they all have different personalities and beliefs as to what works best in class.

I found they ( I had 5 trainers) often contradicted each other in terms of what was considered to be 'right' and 'wrong' practice or the degree to which something should or should not be done while teaching.

It's in your best interest to make decisions and choices which appeal to the particular trainer you are working with at the time.

Yes, my trainers had very different teaching styles and were quite contradictory. We had to teach to the trainer, rather than to the student.
