Why do Turkish teachers say things like:

Make them study.
Force them to study.

Why can`t they even consider that students might actually want to study?

Is it because of the lack of a reading culture?
Is it because of the horrors of the rote learning system in schools?
Is it because the education system, not to mention the country itself is a giant multiple choice?
Is it because that is how the Turkish teachers learnt?

Inspired by this from mymerhaba.com:

native speaker of English is needed to play with my friend's son aged 2 to make him acquire English Language....They live in Atakoy....please e-mail me if u are interested [email protected]

Actually, many of the Turkish teachers I know would say

make them to study Laughing

May I say 31 that you are a lot more clued up about Turkey than meets the eye and that your knowledge in terms of this field seems to indicate that you have been in it a lot longer than you say. Hmm, and your grammar and spelling has improved greatly in your recent threads. Are you pulling the wool over many virtual eyes here?

Thank you vre for the compliment. Yes my spelling and grammar has improved. Constant humiliation on the board has forced me to check my posts using my Oxford Pocket Learners Dictionary. I have also borrowed a grammar book and have been studying the examples and then doing the gap fills.

As I work pretty much two jobs at ET my 4 and a half months here are what anybody else would get in a year. The TAs at et are hepful and I get lots of info from them. Also my girlf gives me so much.
