just to clear something up about the lyrics to a certain mayfield song which corresponds with my name, as I understand it this song was part of a soundtrack he composed for a film called 'Superfly' which (though I haven't seen the film) dealt with substance abuse (no doubt in a sensitive and mature manner). Hope that is of some help.

One of the thıings that got me through long, dark winters in central anatolia was Marvin Gaye. Oddly enough, Let's Get it On always reminds me of freezing half to death in endless blizzards, walking up and down the main boulevard, bored and restless, the song blending in with the never ending ezzan and shouts from the veggie sellers. Not quite what Marvin anticipated, I suppose, but it kept me sane.

Maybe, but I think Marvin would have regarded it as a real pısser, if he were alive to talk about it.

Which is your favourite Gaye track? (Did you already answer this in the previous post)

I'd be right miffed if I were shot with my own gun. Or shot at all, for that matter. Being shot really ruins one's day.

As for favourites, can I vote for What's Going On? Let's Get it On was just nice and soothing and a brilliant juxtaposition to a certain point of my life.

The 'What's Going On' album is one of the artistic masterpieces of the 20th Century. I believe Motown weren't really that happy with it, but Gaye had gotten fed up with doing what they told him to and finally made the album he wanted. Good thing too. Razz
