Hi, can anyone out there give me some names of schools in Bali. I know of the EF and ILP schools. Are there any others employing bule?
Having spent a lot of time in Indonesia (in 1996 did a stint at EF Bandung - nice to see that it's still getting positive raves), I'm now looking to get some work in Bali and take my daughter (3 yrs) with me. Would love to hear from other people working in Indo with kids. Tips on finding a good pembantu, how you find managing the work and parenting....

Pembantu - you can do it through a pembantu shop (yayasan) many advertise their phone number on street poles and walls. They charge up to Rp350,000 for each pembantu. Othwerwise you can go looking in the kampung!

Im fairly new at this so I'll appologize ahead if this is a dumb question, but what are the EF and ILP schools? Im about to take my TESOL course and Bali is where Im looking to work. The reply from 'guru' was amazing, and if you or anyone could post what those other schools are, that would be awesome! Thats about it for now...Cheers! |

EF= English First. Believe me, they get a lot of queries from teachers who drop by. It's not an easy school to get into for that very reason. As with most/all EF schools, starting salary is at step 1. I think I had a foot in the door there, but TEFLA Certificate and 5 yrs experience counted for nothing. |
