They can't be all that bad. They've never made any unfulfilled promises to me, I mean New Times International hasn't. They just didn't answer any of my mails/applications to them. Remember, I'm not Snow White and they're not the seven dwarves!
Hehehe, my quarter of a cent!

KrazyKarl - In regards to the inference to www.teachinchina.cn

Sounds a little like you have not been involved with, or even spent any amount of time with New Times International.
For if you had, you might understand that what you have stated is quiet inaccurate, incorrect and uninformed.

Also to state that you think someone specifically is greedy without understanding clearly about whom you are talking. Indicative of a insensitivity.

Majority of the teachers that go through New Times International are quite happy with the service, unfortunately most hardly ever post here. But there are some who know the value of New Times International services.

Find that there is quite a big difference between hearing about something and knowing about something.

I think the best advice that anyone on here can give without being judgemental or otherwise inclined is to say the following:

ASK FOR A REFERENCE WHERE EVER YOU ARE GOING TO WORK!!

Anyone that takes a job in China without doing a little homework first can only expect that their fate will be put in the hands of others.

In saying this I think that talking to people on the phone that are at the school that you are going to go to is the best bet. Email can be ok, but if you are worried, call a teacher that is on the ground and it can be much more informative.

Forums are useful, but there are a lot of disgruntle foreigners here in China. I am also of the opinion that recruiters are not all that good, but newbies don't seem to be all that good at job hunting without them, so just do your homework and your chances for success will be increased dramatically.
