Roger,
There you go playing the wise one again. Yes, racism exists and will continue to do so and just because that is the case does it mean everyone must accept it without a protest? Does it mean everyone must succumb to it?
Sure, I will 'learn' to live with racism - but not without protest. Those that perpetrate their own brand of injustice must know they are unjust and those that condone it must also know that a part of the blame lies with them, too. Let them toss and turn in the quiet of a sleepless night when a random thought passing through their mind, asking questions, pointing fingers, accuses the self, 'J'Accuse', though perhaps, not to all for there are those whose consciences may have been calcified. And, when at some turn in life they find themselves at the receiving end of an injustice, a soft voice within them might say, 'You asked for it, didn't you?"
Just because something wears one down, is not reason enough to move on because after being worn down when one achieves a goal there comes a period of rejuvenation.
And please, the analogy of a 'Chinese chick' sponging is not quite appropriate here. In a sense that smacks of the same prejudices.
Thanks for the school's name but I will use it only when and if I feel comfortable that the resource offered was not given grudgingly or to score a brownie point.

"J'Accuse."
Reminds me of the great scene from the Autobiography of Balzac DVD.

Comfort the Afflicted.
Afflict the Comfortable.

Keep on keepin' on, Brother...

The Struggle for Power

Too often humans cut themselves off from the greater source of this energy and so feel weak and insecure. To gain energy we tend to manipulate or force others to give us attention and thus energy. When we successfully dominate others in this way, we feel more powerful , but they are left weakened and often fight back. Competition for scarce human energy is the cause of all conflict between people.

"J'accuse!" is a tad too strong for my taste; none of us is another Emile Zola accusing the conspirators against Marechal Dreyfuss.

And, writpetition, I am NOT trying to score brownie points. It's up to you to make use of my suggestion, or to reject it, but you should refgrain from making such condescending remarks.
The more you lament, lambast and bewail insensitive hosts the less likely you will find an ideal job here. Guangzhou is no doubt more hostile than many rural parts of China are. So long as I don't know a person like you, so long must I be on my watch in recommending them to an employer.

Sounds almost like a veiled threat. BTW, I was not lamenting, lambasting and bewailing insesitive 'hosts'. I was talking about one, namely Alcanta and their ridiculous 'offer'.
Considering where your sympathies lie, I don't need you to recommend me to any employer. I have almost pleaded here on this very board for info on employers who might be willing to hire without basing their choice on race and passport considerations and I don't think you offered any suggestion then. So, why this carrot/stick now?
