Does anyone know whether or not steroids are legal in Taiwan? |

I would error on the side of caution and say those legal in the west are legal here, though anything could probably be bought here with the right connections.
Check with any pharmacy, they will have what you want and sell it to you or they will let you know it is illegal(though they might still sell it to you ).
I would also check with weight lifting gyms. They're supposedly fountains of information about such things. I can't say anything about any particular drug because Taiwan has very weird regulations for some cases and almost none for others. Do a search with Taiwan and the steroids name or just steroids and see what you come up with.

I was thinking that those illegal in the West are legahl here.
Reminds me of seeing a guy in Bangkok a few months ago in a pharmacy and all the roids and drugs he had on the counter for purchase. He was a big muscle dudge who was obviously into the performance enhancing drugs. I even noticed a couple of other tourists laughing at him.
Anyways, you probably can get things here over the counter that you won't get back in Okami's favourite country or the U.S. without a DR's prescription.
I just bought some anti-biotics over the counter. Can't do that back in Canada or Japan. |

thanx for the reply. I'd rather not be arrested anytime while there, so I'd really like a definite answer on this. Has anyone been to those pharmacies? It's freaking weird how they regulate drugs.
Thailand sells steroids like candy but anything with ephedrine will get you shot. |

I'm assuming the steroids you want are legal in your own country, so here is what I would do if I were you.
Have a note made out in Chinese explaining that you're a fitness buff and these steroids are legal in your country. Then have a list of names with 3 columns to check. The columns can be written in Chinese like this: Legal and in supply, Legal but none in stock, and Illegal in Taiwan.
The pharmacies will not call the cops or get you into trouble for asking legitamite questions. They do a raging trade in over the counter viagra sales and other drugs. I would still use a pharmacy out of your area because Chinese people gossip like there is no tomorrow. I know a cool one in Yung Ho and a road of them in Zhongho near Nanshijiao MRT station. If you need directions or addresses, just let me know and I'll go get them for you.
That being said, I can assure you that you can receive almost anything by airmail with little or no worries. So mail order is a legitamite option, if you are so inclined.
Warning: Taiwan is a counterfeit pharmaceutical manufacturer's heaven. Know what your pills wil look, taste, and/or feel like. Pharmacies will not hesitate to sell you some bunk, useless, no active ingrediant containing sugar pills. The antibiotics sold over the counter are practically worthless at $3NT a pill. Mexico has higher medical standards than Taiwan for Christ sake. Be knowledgable and be careful.

Airmail is safe because it comes through so quickly and there are so many packages that checks are practically at 0% of total packages. Don't give them a reason to be suspicious and they won't be. Taiwan was/is a huge transhipment point or point of origin for drugs, pirated goods, and money laundering. They still grow opium in Taiwan, just on a smaller scale. Marijuana farms have been busted with over 5000+plants.
1. There is also perception problem with Taiwanese. They don't see them as a real crime because no one is really "hurt" in their minds. They have a hard time prosecuting white collar and patent/copyright infringement cases because of this. They would think; how can anything be so bad if it is in such a small package?
2. How many postal employees can read English? My guess is not many and that the whole postal system is a large job creation scheme. A-zai(or insert any other Taiwanese name) is not going to do any snooping for something going into your PO Box.
3. They don't care. Really, they don't. Your only going to be shipping in for personal use so why would they pay much attention to such a small package when there are literally hundreds of thousands more? They don't x-ray and they have maybe 3-5 dope sniffing dogs on the whole island and probably no one well versed in their training and maintenance.
4. How would they know it was possibly legal or illegal? Most Taiwanese are hopeless when it comes to rules and regualtions. They will believe a doctor no matter what he says. No matter how strange or weird the doctor's diagnosis is. So unless an authourity figure tells them so, they will do nothing.
I use to work for a Taiwanese software/hardware integration company and they had many ways to get things past customs and their import taxes. It was something of a game. Take software CDs for instance, if you declare it as a demo, then no import tax; declare it as software and then your paying a huge amount of tax. We had suppliers label all software CDs as demos. It only gets more convulated from there. Because we were working with high priced items, everything was sent airmail and registered/insured. Nothing was ever seized and we had no problems from customs.

Anytime, mate
Some day I might need a favor, now this day might never come, but if it does I expect you to be there. You know what I mean?
Just make sure to use a PO Box and you can give the PO any address for it.

Please be advised that sending prescription drugs through the mail is illegal. The average sentence for a minor drug conviction in Taiwan is seven years and they do have extradition with most other countries.

With questions like these I can't help you. Keep the dirty laundry off the board. The perception that I was helping someone smuggle in things less than legal would besmirch my good name. I gave asnwers to what I perceived as legitamite questions about legal products.
That being said. A passport or some other ID is the only requirement for opening a PO box.

Sorry, I didn't mean to give the impression I was an outlaw. I'm asking all these questions because I do NOT want to do anything illegal and especially get convicted. The legality of steroids seems to be so random from country to country. |

You are supposed to have a script when you go to your pharmacy.I say "supposed" to,not have to.
Go to your local "Drugstore",ask for their drug book, search and order.
Remember,most steriods or Anabolic hormones are imported,so are a little expensive e.g. Nandrolone(Deca) 100 mg = +- nt 400-500.
Ask for a local version(you will not get Deca),do not believe the rubbish that most are fakes, this is not China.
As an example,Test Cypionate 200 mg = +- NT$40-50.So cheap,good quality.
If you want good advice, mail me.I will give you the companies name, etc.
Hoping you are a responsible, level headed individual.
Do not believe all the negative rubbish about "Roids".The positive far outweighs the negative.
Have you read the warning lables on all Ephedra products? It reads like a novel.Yet it has been banned.
"No-one has ever gone broke underestimating the intelligence of the average American".
What next,Viagra ? |
