Oprah,
saunas abound here in GUANGDONG! Dunno about them farther up north although I did come across some saunas in An'kang, Shaanxi many years earlier.
By 'sauna' I mean a respectable segregated institution with a genuine oak-panelled cabin and cold showers. The cost is somewhere between 20 RMB and maybe 100 RMB (probably including massage), depending on location.
We have a beautiful sauna in our estate. I pay 100 per month in membership fee.
A warning for the timid: some CHinese spit in the sauna!

Roger: thanks for the info on sauna's and the spitting.. I will forgo the sauna then..
I thought I was having a pedicure last week.. It had nothing to do with buffing and painting of toenails.. more like scraping and really cutting with a knife. Although this chap knew what he was doing..the utensils were not cleaned just on to the next person.. not again.. hepatitis or HIV could be transmitted..?? I must say they were thorough no more ingrown toe nails..
