It depends on what sort of job you are after language school, k-12, university or whatever. Just start googling. mymerhaba is a local expat website where jobs are advertised. |

We are looking for teachers but I don`t know if they would employ someone who may not be technically a native speaker. You could PM the Education Director and find out. I am sure we would all be interested in finding out. |

I am interesed in teaching in Turkey also. I was originally only interested in teaching in Asia, but have started reading posts from other countries and have read some good things about Turkey.
I will be taking a TEFL course soon and should be ready to move by this summer.
I am semi-retired (older but not dead ). I have a Master of Engineering degree and many years experience in manufacturing. I specialized in writing process procedures, specifications and shop floor instructions. I plan on doing volunteer teaching in Canada until I find a job.
Any suggestions on how/if I will find work in Turkey.
Thanks |

look at the jobs part of Dave's and www.tefl.com Also use google. Do a search on 'language schools istanbul' for example and email your cv on spec. don't worry about age. I have known many mature colleagues out here. I won't deny that it easier to find employment if you are here. recruiters do prefer to interview face to face. also if you here it is easier to make contacts and hear through the grapevine which places are recuiting. |
