You hear alot about CELTA being required in some parts of the world but what if you'll be teaching kids? This course is for teaching adults but lots of schools teach kids or at least a mix of adults and kids so why is CELTA so popular? Do people get something else to go along with this cert? I'm interested in teaching Junior High and High School students. Possibly uni students one day but I guess they're considered adults. |

Hi,
You could do the CELTYL which is basically CELTA with a focus on young learners. Or you could do the CELTA and then get the LY part as an extension.
See http://www.cambridge-efl.org/teaching/celtyl/index.cfm for more details.
Regards,
Mike. |

I completed the CELTA a year ago and now teach at a kindergarten. I've been wanting to do the YL extension course but cannot find anywhere (Europe or East Asia) that does this course. I have already enquired at the suggested website but they could only direct me to places that runs the full CELTYL course. Does anyone know where I can take the YL extension? |
