Oh, Lord, the parents. One of the many reasons why I no longer teach children. If your Mommy has to drop you off I don't want you in my classroom.

Roger, I'm glad you pointed out the "evaluations" frequently given by parents who don't even speak enough English to drink baijiu, hang around street corners without a shirt, and hoot "Hallooo!" at passing white people. I've seen it happen many times and it's too surreal for words or reaction.

I agree that the parents don't know what their kids really need. They are themselves at best products of the schools and systems we have to contend with every day. It actually seems sometimes as if they don't CARE what their kids need...not really true; competition is very stiff in this land and most parents sincerely just want the best possible life for the kids. But there is definitely a set of expectations placed upon these kids based upon a total lack of knowledge of the education process.

IMHO the ignorance of the parents, and the spinelessness of the owners who cave in to them, is one of the biggest things wrong with kids' education in China- public or private, domestic or foreign.

Looking at your avatar one could rightly assume that the gene pool in your neighbourhood was pretty shallow and the evolutionary scale curves pretty gently. Sho' nuff. Nuff sed. Rolling Eyes

Sunaru, your attempt to rouse the wrath of the Predator by insulting Scotland's sexiest cultural icon (Billy, not Syndrome) has been a total failure.

Or not.
